Description
CMC J&A Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company (LMSSC) will support the integration of the TRIDENT II D5 missile and reentry subsystems into the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) for the Ohio SSBN Replacement program. LMSSC will apply its TRIDENT II capabilities to address integration impacts to the deployed and expected future configurations of the the TRIDENT II strategic weapon system. The contract encompasses three components. First, the contractor will provide level-of-effort engineering services support from 1 October 2011 to 29 February 2012. Second, the contractor will provide data deliverables and system readiness reviews for a new, CMC-related missile service unit and missile thermal simulator. The contractor will complete the data deliverables in mid-2013. Finally, the contractor will deliver missile hardware items for subsequent incorporation into special test vehicles. Final hardware delivery will occur by 31 July 2015. This is a sole source procurement pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The contract is cost type because the Government cannot establish in advance or accurately forecast the exact nature and extent of the work, the precise method of performing the work, nor the cost of performing the work.
