- Synopsis for Presolicitation Purposes PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project involves road maintenance activities on approximately 20 miles of single lane forest roads on Chichagof Island. Work includes removing culverts and bridges, constructing waterbars, clearing and grubbing young vegetative growth from roadways, transporting modular bridges to Thorne Bay, Alaska, constructing a log trail bridge and seeding and fertilizing. The project includes an option to furnish and install treated and untreated wooden planking on modular bridges. The forest road system at Indian River is not connected to any outside road system, and there are no commercial services available along the road system. The intent of this potential acquisition is to provide for the complete project as described. Unless otherwise provided, any Awardee shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract.
