- J&A to Extend Services The required service are to provide all personnel, equipment, tolls, materials, vehicles, supervision and other items and service, unless specified in this contract as Government Furnished Property (GFP) necessary to perform O&M of the BTS 24 hours per day seven days per week; per O&M on the switching system (s), inside and outside cable plant network equipment, transmission systems, and all associated equipment described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) Appendix 5.2, which may include other systems(e.g. radio, etc). Services include base mission changes; major or minor BTS infrastructure modifications; and other support requirements necessary for the BTS to meet mission requirements. Base exercises or actual ongoing base security events frequently interrupt missions. Support requirements may originate from technology changes, hardware and software systems upgrade, reconfigurations, new or additional equipment, local area network (LAN) cable installations and upgrade, Dial Central Office (DCO) reconfigurations. This includes routing/diversity requirements and any other environmental changes that could impact or alter the base BTS. O&M actions include all actions taken by the Contractor to operate and maintain equipment and systems in a serviceable condition or to restore it to a serviceable condition to include purchasing of commercially available parts, inspection, periodic testing, adjustment, and repair. The effort may include the replacement of defective circuit packs and Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), preventive maintenance IAW applicable publications (OEM, PWS, Appendix 5.6 and otherwise specially listed herein) and the routine work to optimize the life expectancy of the equipment and cable systems. Work order will be accomplished IAW PWS Section 1.4. Based on the current prices, the total cost for 11 months extension of services is estimated to be $487K. The service is to be provided by expenditure of O&M (3400) appropriated funds.
