- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Architect/Engineer for Project #646-09-128, "Upgrade Normal and Emergency Power Distribution at UD". This project will provide additions and modifications as necessary to upgrade, expand and renovate the Normal/Emergency Power Distribution System at VAPHS University Drive (UD) Division. It will also address the immediate need of providing adequate normal/emergency power availability and capacity to all areas of the UD site; and providing infrastructure and planning for future uses. This project will include (but is not limited to): designing a Master Plan for normal / emergency power distribution system; designing for and replacement of existing normal/emergency power distribution infrastructure within funding limits of the overall project, including Bid Alternates to fit budget limitations; development of at least three normal/emergency power distribution system configuration options in the Schematic Design phase; coordination of this project with "Upgrade Normal Power Distribution- UD" Project which is already in progress. The construction estimate is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541330 with a size standard of $4.5 Million. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) under the authority 38 U.S.C. 8127. All SDVOSB offerors must be verified by the Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE). Solicitation materials will be available on the FedBizOps website on or about July 22, 2011, barring events beyond our control Active and current registration on the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) website is required of all contractors. All interested parties should register as such on the FBO website. No further information is available at this time. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice.
