- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Army Contracting Command Warren Detroit Arsenal is herein synopsizing for the following commercial vehicles: Transport Cargo Vans for the Afghan National Police (ANP). The cargo vans will be procured according to a performance specification under request for proposal W56HZV-11-R-0307. The procurement will be open to any responsible company that can provide the Ford Transit Cargo Vans. The limitation to the Ford Transit Cargo Van is required by the needs of the Government of Afghanistan, the end users of the vehicle. The vehicles requested should be the same as the 81 Cargo Vans that have been procured the past 3 years. The ANP has requested additional Ford Transit Vans will improve fleet commonality, simplify parts supply (logistic commonality) and simplify the maintenance procedures for the mechanics. For additional information see attached draft specification. The planned contract type is one Firm-Fixed Price type contract for a one time action for 199 vehicles throughout a twelve (12) month period. FOB Point: Origin. The request for proposal may be released on or about June 27 and responses will be due approximately 30 calendar days thereafter. Interested parties are advised to withhold submission of data until after request for proposal has been publicly released. The vehicles under this acquisition are subject to World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements.
