Description
The Government intends to issue a Request For Proposal later in Calendar Year 2011 for the modification of several of the US Navy s Dry Deck Shelters (DDS). The DDS, when installed on a Host Submarine, provides the capability to support various Special Operating Forces (SOF) missions. DDS Extension (DDSX) program will primarily include the following efforts: 1.To design, construct, install on a host submarine, certify for manned operations, and operationally test a fifty inch (50 ) extension to an existing DDS. This 50 extension will be welded to the aft end of the existing hangar. 2.Develop improvements to the DDS Hangar Outer Door to allow remote operation (unlock, open/close, lock) of the door. 3.Develop improvements to assist personnel in the deployment and retrieval of the track and cradle system from the extended shelter. In support of the DDSX effort the Government will hold an Industry Day at Naval Special Warfare Group THREE Detachment Little Creek (NSWG-3 Det LC) on 04 Aug 2011. In addition to making a DDS available for review by any potential bidders, NSWG-3 Det LC personnel will provide all attendees an overview of DDS operations and NAVSEA will provide an overview of the planned scope of the DDSX Acquisition Program. Attendees will be afforded the opportunity to ask questions about DDS operations or the DDSX efforts during the Industry Day. NSWG-3 Det LC is located on Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek in Norfolk VA. The physical address for the compound is 1875 Intercove Rd Norfolk VA 23521. All interested parties shall submit their intention to participate to Brian Pelletier, NAVSEA PMS399A4, brian.c.pelletier@navy.mil, and Jodie LaFreniere-Dajc, NASVEA 0264, jodie.dajc@navy.mil, the Government POCs for this effort before 22 Jul 2011. Parties are requested to forward security clearance information for all attendees to NSWG-3 Det LC via JPAS (SMO Code N088426, Ref: DDS Industry Day). For parties not having access to JPAS security clearance information shall be forwarded to NSWG-3 Det LC POCs, Mr. William Snow, William.Snow@nsweast.socom.mil, and PO1 Jermaine White, Jermaine.White@nsweast.socom.mil. The agenda for the Industry Day will be promulgated to all parties expressing interest by 22 Jul 2011
