Description
DESCRIPTION: This project will expand the urgent care and Outpatient services into an addition to building 15 H and the renovation of the ground floor space of a portion of building 15E. Construction of the new ground floor expansion to the existing three story structural steel frame and masonry exterior wall building terraced within the existing hillside adding approximately 9,330 square foot of new space and renovation of 7,835 sq. ft of adjacent ground floor space in building 15E. Work will include structural steel, concrete and masonry, glass façade entrance, architectural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC as well as alterations of existing exhaust vents, ducts, plumbing, and miscellaneous other utilities penetrating the existing buildings, fire alarm and fire sprinkler system construction and tie in to existing building systems are included. Overall construction will allow the addition of two floors in the future. Preliminary Concept and Design Phase Services: The design shall include structural design to accommodate two additional floors (above the proposed) for future expansion. Exterior walls will be a combination of a glass façade, brick and concrete block to match the existing facility. Perform collection of as-built drawings and verify existing capacities of all utilities and design and upgrade as necessary to support the new and future building expansion and renovation. The design shall include survey, topography, subsurface investigation, borings and prepare existing site plan drawing showing identified utilities (electric, water, sanitary, steam and drainage) and test boring locations. All testing of soil reports shall be by a certified laboratory and provide data for seismic requirements. Prepare proposed site plan drawings with exterior site features. Drawing s sheet dimension shall follow VA s 30 x40 and AutoCAD drafting. Provide complete building foundation and architectural design. Design plumbing systems to include water, sanitary, roof storm, floor drains and bathroom fixtures. Design and provide calculations for electrical system, to include lighting and power to building and medical equipment and lightning protection system. Design and provide calculations for mechanical and HVAC system. Design fire protection system to include fire sprinklers, fire alarm systems and connect to existing fire alarm control panel. Preparation of the detailed design drawings. Provide detailed cost estimates for each discipline (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, architectural, HVAC). Provide CIH services for lead and asbestos Tasks 1 9. Provide general and edited technical specification documents in accordance with VA format and requirements for VA review and comment. Each submission shall include the required deliverables outlined in the supplement B to the SF 252. Provide printed plans for VA review and comment per submission. Contract documents prepared electronically (pdf, word and AutoCAD formats) and hardcopy sets. Provide all site visits for preliminary investigation and design, attend pre-bid walk through and answer questions from prospective bidders about the project design. Construction Phase Services (including but not limited to): Assist in the development of shop drawings, and review submittals for acceptance. Answer questions and RFI s about the project design. Conduct periodic inspection service. These site visits also include a pre-construction conference, intermediate, startup and a final inspection visit. The A/E will submit a survey report summarizing the conditions found at the construction site as a result of the site visit Review change orders and provide detailed itemized cost estimates for same Perform punch list for project close out Prepare and provide originals (Mylar and electronically CD in AutoCAD) and copies of as-built drawings on AutoCAD from marked-up set provided by contractor.
