Description
Temporary parking construction is intended to serve as temporary parking serving displaced parking associated with the permanent Parking Structure project construction. Temporary parking install is formulated to provide surface parking withstanding snow removal and general use through the life of the permanent Parking Structure project construction which is expected to last approximately 18 months. The temporary parking construction is grouped into three main phases as follows. Phase I: Build temporary parking on a current grass / gravel area around Building 8 using recycled construction material. All construction material on all lots delineated below is to be provided by the contractor. The temporary construction around Building 8 will recover approximately 48 spaces. Contractor is responsible for the cut and cap of lawn sprinkler lines at area designated near Building 8. No handicap provisions or signage for this particular lot will be required under this contract. Tree shown on detail is to remain in place and be protected per last paragraph in this Scope of Work document. Phase 1 temporary parking will be completed in fifteen work days within notice to proceed of this work. Phase II: Phase II will consist of expanding the parking lot at Building 14 (referred to as 'Lot 14') by approximately 45 additional parking stalls. This phase will require restriping. In addition, in order to construct the stalls shown on south end of Lot 14, this will require removal and stock piling of existing rock beds and replacement of these rocks with recycled construction material (asphalt and concrete over non woven geotecstial fabric). There is an existing electronic parking gate in Lot 14 that contractor is to remove (gate, pedestal, and electrical wiring) for delivery to the VA; components are to be kept in a reusable condition. This, along with restriping and reconfiguring the existing space, will allow for approximately 60 handicap patient stalls and approximately 236 patient stalls. Handicap stalls are to meet current ADA requirements and be painted as shown on detail. Non-handicap stalls are to be 9' x 20'. No signage will be required under this contract. Barricades will not be required under this contract. Existing striping that differs from Lot 14 layout is to be painted over. Phase II temporary parking will be completed in twenty work days within notice to proceed of this work. Phase III: This phase is to construct and stripe temporary parking along the east and south sides of the future Valor House area, utilizing the VA property up to the property line that adjoins Sunnyside Park per detail A-3. This construction is to be consistent with paving detail. Approx. 6500 Cubic Yard of compacted material below fabric is required in order for elevations to work with the new Valor House and the existing roadways. In addition, a 38 space temporary parking space will be constructed to the west of Building 38 per detail A-4. This parking area by Building 38 will require saw cut of new approach Phase III temporary parking will be completed in forty work days within notice to proceed of this work.
