The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is planning the acquisition of thermal flight strips, NSN 7530-01-453-5094, NSN 7530-01-468-4688 and NSN 7530-01-435-1872, for air traffic control operations. These flight strips are an essential tool in tracking aircraft. This flight strip is applicable to the Flight Data Input/Output system (FDIO). The FDIO system is anticipated to be fielded through Calendar Year 2020. The flight strips are to be manufactured in accordance with FAA Specification FAAD-F-1369-3, dated June 5, 2000, see attached. Estimated annual quantity for the base year and all option years are as follows:NSN 7530-01-453-5094 4,500 boxes per yearNSN 7530-01-468-4688 1,000 boxes per yearNSN 7530-01-435-1872 300 boxes per year The FAA contemplates the use of an Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity type contract with fixed unit prices, with a base year and four 1-year options, for the acquisition of these thermal flight strips. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 323112. The business size standard for this NAICS is 500 employees. These flight strips are only known to be available from Print-o-Tape, Inc., Mundelien, IL. CAPABILITY STATEMENT: All vendors responding to this market survey must provide a Capability Statement that addresses the following (in order):a. Type of products/services provided by your firm, may include specification sheets and brochures.b. Description of previous contracts for products that are similar in scope. Provide detailed information and past performance information for at least three (3) previous contracts including program title, customer name, contract dates, contract value, customer point of contact, and description of work performed.c. Demonstrate experience/capability for the requirements set forth in the attached FAA Specification FAAD-F-1369-3. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:In order to be considered responsive, organizations expressing interest in this matter must provide the following:a. Capability Statement (as defined above)b. Completed Business Declaration Form All interested sources must submit responses in writing to Connie.M.Houpt@faa.gov by 2:00 p.m. CST, June 27, 2011. Requests should be submitted to the attention of Connie Houpt and reference DTFAAC-11-R-57389. Information packages received after June 27, 2011 will be determined late and will not be considered. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these assemblies. Responders to this announcement may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittal. The final determination by the FAA not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the FAA.
