Description
Sources Sought Fill-able Form This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District, is seeking potential firms that have the capability to execute a construction project at the Fox River Dams in Wisconsin, that shall include, but not limited to, clearing and grubbing of approximately 800 lineal feet of levee along Depere Dam's Eastern Embankment located in Depere, WI. Root balls of approximately 50 trees over 3" in diameter will need to be removed to a depth of 3 feet and filled with cohesive material. Most of the trees are less than 2' in diameter with some greater than 2' in diameter. The remainder of the site will need to be stripped 18", re-graded and topped with 4" of topsoil and seed. Additional cohesive fill will be needed to achieve the required slopes. All fill will need to be compacted per dam safety requirements. Approximately 40% of the total work involves removal of trees and filling cavities with clay. The remaining 60% involves stripping of top soil and restoring the dam embankment. All of this will involves dam safety issues and will require strict adherence to safety standards. The only access to the embankment is over a small navigation lock or via water transport. Any heavy equipment or construction materials will need to be brought to the site via barge. The contract will have a 90 days completion requirement. The estimated award date of the contract is 15 August 2011. The estimated cost of construction is between $100,000 and $500,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, which has a size standard of $33,500,000 in average annual receipts. This is NOT a request for proposal. This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement, interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firm's capabilities and experience on construction projects similar in scope and cost magnitude to this project; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 237990. Firms must submit a letter from their bonding company related to their bonding capacity for individual projects along with their letter of interest. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. To be considered the responses to this notice should be provided using the Adobe Acrobat PDF "Sources Sought Fillable Form" file which is located in this sources sought notice on www.FBO.gov. Companies or individuals interested in responding are invited to submit their information via email only to LRE-QUOTES@usace.army.mil and Dean.Liguori@usace.army.mil. Do NOT send an SF 330.
