Description
United States Botanic Gardens (USBG) East Terrace Gardens (Phase C) Per FAR 36.204 the estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The Architect of the Capitol will advertise the solicitation as full and open competition. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238990 (All other specialty trade contractors). The small business size standard is $14.0 million. The solicitation is for a firm fixed priced contract. The Architect of the Capitol intends to engage a qualified Contractor to perform all work as necessary for the final phase of an outdoor garden renovation, on the East side of the USBG Conservatory. The renovation work shall require site preparation to include perimeter construction fencing, tree protection and silt fencing, removal of existing plantings and excavation of the site. The soil shall be amended off site, at the USBG Production Facility, and the new soil mix shall be transported back to the site. The new hardscape work includes; dimensional bluestone pathways, bluestone curbing, granite seating walls, and crushed gravel pathways. The landscape will consist of a tall fescue lawn, woody trees and shrubs, with a perennial understory planting; all plants will be of specimen quality. Utility work includes; expansion of the previously installed irrigation system, landscape lighting, and surface drains. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 1, 2011. The due date for receipt of proposals will be on or about August 1, 2011. The solicitation will only be available electronically on FedBizOpps on the date of issuance. INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO DOWNLOAD THE ELECTRONIC VERSION OF THE SOLICITATION. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO MONITOR THIS SITE FOR ALL CHANGES!! Attendance at the site visit is strongly encouraged!! A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be scheduled once the solicitation is released. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment to perform the work associated with the East Terrace Gardens located at the USBG Conservatory.
