Description

Presolicitation synopsis for Last Chance Fire Rehabilitation Hydromulching and Seeding Hydromulching and Seeding Project: The project is for Hydromulching and seeding of post-fire high and moderate severity burn areas on the Last Chance Fire burn area around the perimeter of the Sitting Bull Falls developed recreation site. Seeding application will be set for 40 seeds per square foot, with the following mixture: Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium) 5 seeds/square foot Green Sprangletop (Leptochloa dubia) 5 seeds/square foot Plains Lovegrass (Eragrostis intermedia) 5 seeds/square foot Sand Dropseed (Sporobolus cryptandrus) 5 seeds/square foot Annual Barley (Hordeum vulgare) 20 seeds/square foot Total: 40 seeds/square foot A total of 10 acres will be seeded, depending on funds available and bids received. The contractor will be expected to procure the recommended seed amount sufficient to complete the contract. Some of the areas are hard to access, and will need smaller equipment in order to apply the hydromulch & seed mix slurry. This treatment is intended to stabilize steep slopes adjacent to the recreational site. The project location is closest to the nearest large town of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
