Description
Situk River Watchable Wildlife Area Improvements Plans (draft). The documents will be released in final form with the solicitation. Situk River Watchable Wildlife Area Improvements Specifications (draft). The documents will be released in final form with the solicitation. This is a pre-solicitation notice under FAR 36.213-2. The Forest Service contemplates issuing a solicitation (request for proposals) for the Situk River Watchable Wildlife Area Improvements project on or after June 29, 2011. The solicitation number is AG-0116-S-11-0099. The work includes demolition of miscellaneous site furnishings (such as campsite fire rings, corrugated metal culverts, log edging, wood bulletin boards), site preparation for new construction (such as roadway obliteration, clearing and grubbing,selective clearing, and limbing/bucking of removed trees), earthwork (such as embankments and fills, trenching and backfill, and subgrade establishment), new construction (such as crushed surface roadways, parking areas, pedestrial trails, pedestrian aggregate pad surfacing, in-stream boat launch with pre-cast concrete planks and placement of rip-rap, and battered concrete wall and log picnic structure), installation of Government-provided vault toilet, site furnishings (such as bulletin boards, tent platforms, picnic tables, fire rings, log curbs, log bollards, and signs), landscape restoration, dewatering of work areas, and so forth. The project plans and specifications are attached to this notice for the convenience of prospective offerors. The work location is the Situk River bridge (locally known as the nine-mile bridge) east of Yakutat, Alaska, on Forest Highway 10 approximately nine miles from its juction with Airport Road. Forest Highway 10 is owned and maintained the Alaska Department of Transportation. Yakutat is not connected to the continental highway system, but is served by commercial airline and barge service. The nearest full-service cities is Juneau, Alaska, to the east (also not connected to the continental highway system) and Anchorage, Alaska, to the west. The estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 for the base work and $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 for the total project (base work plus option work). The solicitation and attachments will be released on this FedBizOpps website. A period of thirty days is contemplated between release of the solicitation and the date set for receipt of proposals. A set-aside for small business concerns is contemplated.
