- Description
- Demolition and repair to the north loading dock, stairs and repair to the ceiling direectly above the garage entry door to the loading dock. This requirement is 100% set-aside for 8(a) businesses only. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238110 - Poured Concrete Foundation and Structure Contractors. The small business size is $14.0 million. The US Department of Commerce requires that the NAICS code for this requirement be included in the selected vendor's Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before an award can be made. This requirement takes place at the north loading dock, US Department of Commerce locate at 1401 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20230. This requirement is for the demolition and repair of the north loading dock knee wall, stairs and the exposed ceiling beams above the loading dock entrance doorway. This contract will require the contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, parts, materials, tools and equipment to successfully perform the necessary demolition and repairs. The performance of this requirement cannot interfere with the day-to-day operation of the loading dock during normal business hours Monday through Friday. The work is therefore limited to weekends only and between the hours of 8:00 PM EST Friday and 5:00 AM EST Monday. All waste, materials, supplies and equipment must be removed prior to the 5:00 AM Monday end time so it does not cause any problems during the normal business day. A site visit has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, 2011 and is to commence precisely at 1:00 PM EST and end at 3:00 PM EST. Pictures, video and measurements may be taken during this visit. A set of architectural drawings are provided in this solicitation, 8 ½ x 11. The selected contractor shall be given a full size set ("D" Size) of drawings at time of award. The Project Manager will be on-hand during the visit for any technical questions. No contracting questions will be answered at this time. In accordance with FAR Part 36.204 - Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the magnitude of construction for the entire project is estimated between $1.00 and $24,999.00. The Government intends to award one firm-fixed-price contract. Source selection will be based on the best value trade-off process. Any technical questions may be presented during the site visit. No contracting questions will be answered. After the site visit all questions, technical and contracting, are to be submitted electronically via e-mail to the assigned Contract Specialist, Ray Staniewski at rstaniewski@doc.gov until 12:00 PM, EST, June 20, 2011. All questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available through the FedBizOpps solicitation as an amendment to the solicitation.
