- The National Park Service (NPS) shall be soliciting for the purchase of equipment from a sole manufacture of network equipment. Manufacture is Cisco System Inc. Yellowstone National Park has standardized on Cisco Network equipment. Yellowstone National Park's network backbone and Routers are all Cisco Equipment. The Cisco equipment is need for continuity of our network and Avaya VOIP equipment. The IT staff has knowledge and training on Cisco equipment. The documents included with the solicitation will call for specific brand name products that are peculiar to one manufacturer. This written justification provides notice for limiting competition to the listed brand name products as authorized by the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Cisco brand name products have been chosen based on the following three criteria: 1.) Yellowstone National Parks current network and routers are all Cisco Equipment. 2.) The materials purchased with the acquisition are to augment the current network system. 3.) Yellowstone employees are trained to diagnose and repair Cisco network and router equipment.
