- Solicitation W44W9M-11-T-0174 Questions 1.Line 2, please explain the need for a Quick Change laser on Line 2? Are you planning to switch from a 20W CO2 laser to 30W CO2 laser? The "Quick Change" laser is a feature of the Versa Laser Platform that allows easy replacement of the laser cartridge without alignment. The 30W laser cartridge is the requested laser to be installed. There will not be a need to switch to the 20W. 2.Will the laser be secured in a stationary location, or is it intended for the entire system (including vacuum exhaust) to be capable of being mobile to move from room to room? The laser will need to be capable of being mobile to move from room to room. 3.Line 3, please describe your intended use for the "Optic Collimator"? The Optic Collimator is an accessory required by the Versa Laser Platform. 4.What materials will be marked with the laser? Aluminum, Anodized Aluminum, Polyacrylic (TESA), Other? Aluminum and Anodized Aluminum will be the main materials. 5.What are the throughput requirements per/hr or per/day There is not a throughput requirement. The unit will be used on an occasional basis for 1-5 tags. 6.Will Cermark or any other topcoat laser bonding materials be used to mark materials with this system? No 7.On Line 7, the specification calls out a Motorola MC9190G Unit w/3D scanner. Our information indicates that this unit has 1D/2D scanner capability, but not 3D. Please advise is this is a typo, or other? Line 7 lists it as "MOTOROLA MC9190G UNIT WITH 2D SCANNER". We use 2D dot matrix codes (ECC-200) which can be read by the Motorola MC9190-G. 8.Line 8, please describe and explain what is meant by the term "Application Generator"? What is the definition of this? Please offer its intended use within the system configuration. The smart scanners require Application Generator software be used to setup the scanners for the particular purpose. This line item covers that software, which can be used for all 4 scanner units. 9.Line 9, please explain "Professional Development Services". What will these be used for? Please specify what project or program these Professional Services will be dedicated to. How many hours, objectives, etc. The Professional Development Services is the programming using the Application Generator Software to setup the scanners for our particular use. It is estimated to require 16 hours to complete this task. 10.Where will the "Application Generator", and "Professional Development Services" take place? What is the deliverable expected from these requirements? Since the Application Generator is software as described under question 8, the Professional Development Services is the only item in question here. The Professional Development Services can take place at the vendors chosen location to include preliminary setup. Final setup and configuration will probably be required at the installation location. The extent of this will depend on the amount of preliminary setup done by the vendor. In total the estimated amount of time required is still the 16 hours stated in question 9. 11.How will the IUID data be submit to the IUID Registry? It will not. 12.Will there be embedded items using Parent/Child configuration as part of this system? No 13.Will there be a need for capturing UID Mark data from items already having a UID mark on them? No 14.Will there be a need to communicate data with Wide Area Work Flow, IUID Registry or both? No 15.How will data be supplied to the system in order to create the UID Mark? The data will be entered into a "setup" screen by the operator. 16.Page 9 of solicitation, please clarify what the meaning of the sentence "LOWEST PRICE RESPONSIBLE OFFER. Technical & past performance, when combined, are none" this means the award will be made to the lowest price responsible offer.
