Description
1.DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, transportation and supervision to spread 100 tons of infield soil mixture on a softball field and 100 tons of infield soil mixture on a baseball field. Additionally, on the softball field only, the contractor shall install supplied clay bricks beneath the pitching mound. The work will be performed at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. 2.BASIC SERVICES. The contractor shall be responsible for conducting a site visit to obtain a soil sample from each field. The samples shall be analyzed to determine the soil characteristics. The contractor shall supply and deliver an infield soil mixture that closely matches the soil characteristics of the existing infield soil. The contractor shall spread 100 tons of bulk material on each field to a finished grade. New material must be tilled into the existing material 2-3 inches. Turf butting up to the infield must be re-edged prior to resurfacing. The Academy ground supervisor shall verify/scribe the location of the outfield edge based on NCAA requirements. Prior to spreading the new material on the field a 4'x10' layer of infield bricks shall be installed beneath the pitching mound in accordance with the manufacturers installation instructions. The rectangle shall extend 1 row of brick behind the pitching rubber and be centered on the top of the pitching rubber to extend towards the home plate. The infield bricks will be provided by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. On-Site Visit is scheduled for June 23, 2011 at 9:00am.
