Description
The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.501 with Intuitive Surgical, 1266 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, as the only responsible source that can provide robotic consumables. This acquisition is being conducted under the FAR 13.5 Test Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. Provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-24 are incorporated. National Medical Center Portsmouth has a need for robotic consumables. The instruments and consumables include the following: Large Laser Driver, ProGasp Forceps, Maryland Bipolar Forceps, Hot Shears, Double Fenestrated Grasper, Mega Needle Driver, Fenestrated Bipolar Forceps, Forceps, Mega Suture Cut Needle Driver, Needle Driver, Monopoplar Cautery Instrument, Maryland Dissector, Tip Cover Accessory (Monopolar Curved Scissors), 8mm Cannula w/ Outlet, 8mm Cannula w/ Outlet, Long 8mm, Cautery Hook Tip, Cautery Spatula Tip, 5mm Cannula, 5mm Blunt Obturator, 5mm Separator Obrurator, 8mm to 5mm Reducer Sleeve, Disposable Accessory Kit 4 Arm, 12mm Endoscope Cannula Mount, ETH/TAUT, 3DHD Camera Head, Cable Assembly & Light Guide, 12mm Alignment Target, 12mm Endoscope, and Illuminator Lamp Module (Y1903) Recommended Spare. These instruments and consumables must be compatible with the Da Vinci Surgical Robot system currently installed at the facility. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by Intuitive Surgical, Inc.
