Description
Replacement Fire Alarm Systems at the National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory Montgomery AL SOL-CI-11-00027 The U.S. EPA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, with Siemens Industry, Inc. to provide the turnkey installation for a replacement Fire Alarm Systems at the National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory, 540 South Morris Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36115-2600. The period of performance is 270 days. EPA has identified Siemens Industry, Inc. as the only contractor able to meet the requirements of this procurement. The EPA's National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory, Montgomery, AL utilizes a Siemens Apogee Building Automation System. This system allows control and monitoring capability of all mechaincal systems by the use of a desktop computer or a PDA device for remote operations. The proposed Replacement Siemens Fire Alarm System ties directly into the Apogee system and allow us complete control over the Siemens fire alarm system by the use of the current desktop computer and mobile PDA, without the presence of a fire alarm panel. The EPA's existing Apogee system can be set up to monitor any fire alarm system on the market, however the Siemens fire alarm system is the only one that can be fully controlled by the current automation system. This is a proprietary Siemens Industry, Inc. system (includes computer protocols, algorithims, programming language, and specific equipment such as interface devices ). This procurement will be accomplished under FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Sources wishing to be considered MUST submit documentation to the office identified above. Documentation must be submitted within 15 calendar days of the date of publication of this notice. Submit your request in writing to Michael Kreacic at the above address or by e-mail to kreacic.michael@epa.gov. Telephone requests will not be honored.
