Description: Article I.SCOPE OF WORK 1.PROJECT DATA: TITLE: Ceiling Lift Site Prep FY11 BUILDING/FACILITY: Various patient rooms and patient therapy locations in buildings 2,4,62 and 78 at the Bedford VAMC. PROJECT NO: 518-11-108SPH CONSTRUCTION DURATION: 180 Days 2.GENERAL SCOPE: Furnish all labor, materials, and supervision to perform work to facilitate modifications in patient rooms to prepare the areas for patient lift installations as required by specifications. 3.DETAILED REQUIREMENTS: A. Contractor preparing rooms for ceiling lifts will be required to work closely to establish a work schedule with the ceiling lift installation company to ensure smooth transitioning between phases. B.Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary demolition and construction at the specified locations to include the following: ROOM LOCATIONS AND SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Ward 2B - Mobilization to six (6) locations General Note For This Area: Rooms located within this ward have two (2) layers of reinforced plaster ceilings above the existing suspended ceiling which will require the contractor to remove. Demolition will require selective removal of existing plaster ceilings at all room locations to receive installation of patient lifts as determined by Veteran Administrations COTR and patient lift installers. Allow for an area of (64) sixty-four square feet to be removed at each room in Ward 2B. Contractor shall be responsible to coordinate with the ceiling lift installation company to establish exact location of ceiling to be removed. Room 343: Provide and install one (1) duplex outlet, modify patient privacy curtain at one (1) location to allow unrestricted movement of new patient lift (privacy curtain track to remain) Ward 2B Continued Ś Room 352: Provide and install one (1) duplex outlet, modify patient privacy curtain at one (1) location to allow unrestricted movement of new patient lift (privacy curtain track to remain) Room 353: Provide and install one (1) duplex outlet, modify patient privacy curtain at one (1) location to allow unrestricted movement of new patient lift (privacy curtain track to remain) Room 356: Provide and install one (1) duplex outlet. Room 364: Provide and install two (2) duplex outlets, modify patient privacy curtain at two (2) locations to allow unrestricted movement of new patient lift (privacy curtain track to remain), relocate one (1) pendant style fire sprinkler. Room 365: Provide and install one (1) duplex outlet, modify patient privacy curtain to allow unrestricted movement of new patient lift (privacy curtain track to remain) Ward 2C (Hospice Unit) - Mobilization to ten (10) locations General Note For This Area: This area is currently under renovation and is slated to receive hard ceilings as part of the construction. Demolition will require selective removal of existing gypsum wall board on ceilings at all room locations to receive installation of patient lifts as determined by Veteran Administrations COTR and patient lift installers. Allow for an area of (30) thirty square feet of Gypsum Wall Board to be removed at each room in Ward 2C. Contractor shall be responsible to coordinate with the ceiling lift installation company to establish exact location of ceiling to be removed. Room 310: Remove existing Gypsum Wall Board Ceiling to expose concrete deck above to provide access to ceiling for lift installers to suspend Patient Lift Track.
