- Description
- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) together with the Office of Information and Technology intends to solicit, on a sole source basis for scalable trunked land mobile radio systems, trunking services, maintenance and radio spectrum. The TAC intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Pegasus Radio Corp/Federal Radio, 1202 Technology Drive Suite C, Aberdeen, Maryland 21001. A one (1) year contract with three 12-month option periods is planned. The scalable trunked land mobile radio systems deliver two-way radio communications exclusively to the federal government entity. Trunking several radio repeaters at a site allows all users to benefit from the greater range achieved by the tower(s). The estimated date of award for this action is June 30, 2011. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 517210.
