- The Contracting Office of the Chugach National Forest in Anchorage, Alaska will post a request for Proposal (RFP) for the Alaganik Slough Boat Ramp on the Cordova Ranger District of the Chugach National Forest in Cordova, Alaska. The magnitude of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. Work includes but is not limited to the following: clear, grub, and grade subgrade for new boat ramp; clear, grub, and grade in the area of the parking lot improvements; provide and place geotextile, rip-rap, and crushed aggregates for new boat ramp; provide and place geotextile and crushed aggregates for parking lot improvements; provide and place pre-cast concrete boat ramp planks, including anchoring system; construct an accessible boat loading platform, consisting of a cast-in-place concrete cantilever retaining wall, sidewalk, and handrail; provide and install treated timber curbs; demolish the existing boat ramp; provide and place boulders in and around parking lot; install traffic control sign(s) and re-plant disturbed areas. The Alaganik Slough Boat Ramp is located within the Alaganik Slough Day Use Area, 20 miles southeast of Cordova, Alaska, within the Copper River Delta. The Alaganik Slough Day Use Area is accessed from Cordova via a gravel road intersecting the Copper River Highway at approximately milepost 17. Cordova may be accessed by daily Alaska Airlines jet service from Anchorage and Juneau. It is also accessible by Alaska Marine Highway ferry service from Valdez and Whittier on a daily basis. It is expected that a Request for Proposal will be posted on or about 21 June 2011 (pending receipt of funding). This requirement will be posted as a 100% HubZone set-aside.
