- Description
- The contractor shall accomplish Comprehensive Monitored Flush (CMF) of the Lube Oil System & Cooler of the Number 2 Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG), onboard the USS Tortuga, LSD-46, in SRF-JRMC Sasebo, Japan. The hot oil flush/external piping/in-place cooler/combined internal-external final flush will be performed in accordance with the following: NAVSEA MS #S9233-DM-HBK-010-002 (code 931 NSWCCD-SSES) Flush LSD-46 Class Fairbanks Morse 38ND 8-1/8 Diesel Generator Engine Lubricating Oil System and Engine. Signed 7/31/08 Naval guidelines: NSTM (NAVSEA S9086-HB-STM-OlO-NSTM Chapter 233 Diesel Engines). In addition to flushing the system, the refurbishment will include examining the hoses and piping, disconnects, blanking, spooling, jumpering and assistance of flushing hook-ups as needed and other associated examinations. The period of performance will be approximately 7 days (1 week) or less, starting August 8, 2011 (completion must be no later than August 17, 2011. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be posted to the NECO website on or about June 10, 2011 with proposals due by June 23, 2011. A Firm-Fixed Price, Supply type contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR parts 12 and 13.5, Commercial and Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is a Competitive 8(a) procurement. Only SBA-certified 8(a) firms will be considered. All responsible SBA-certified 8(a) firms may submit a proposal which shall be considered by FISCPS. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: https://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for frequently monitoring that site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents.
