- This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ 85723 intends to post a solicitation for other than full and open competition (Brand Name) on Federal Business Opportunities. The VISN 18 Contracting Activity is planning to award a firm fixed-price contract for products included in a Base-X Shelter System (products are not on GSA), manufactured by HDT Expeditionary Systems, Inc., pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. Currently SAVAHCS is using other Base-X Shelter Systems throughout the facility and as part of the Emergency Operations Expansion/Contingency Plan with the County. This system will have the capability to interface with the VA's current Base-X Shelter System. The SAVAHCS is not looking for proposals or offers from other contractors. Market research has been conducted and it has been justified in accordance with FAR 6.301-1. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 624221. The Contract Specialist for the requirement is currently Dustin Plastow, 4135 S Power Rd., STE 103, Mesa, AZ 85212 or Dustin.Plastow@va.gov.
