- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE AND AWARD A CONTRACT AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The National Park Service intends to solicit a proposal and enter into a contract with a local area small business company using NAICS 424720. A small business that will provide Aviation Fuel to the Isle Royale National Park, Houghton, MI 49931 as authorized by FAR 6.203 and FAR 19.502-2. Each local area small business has been notified by e-mail of solicitation requirements. Questions may be directed to Katherine Bernard in writing either by fax 330-468-2507 or email katherine_bernard@nps.gov. NO phone inquiries will be accepted. Aviation fuel is being purchased as part of the Michigan Technological University/ NPS wolf-moose task agreement. The fuel will be used by small aircraft used in the overflight surveys of wolf and moose populations on Isle Royale during the winter of 2011-2012. Due to the engines of airplanes only specified fuels may be used. NPS supplies this fuel as part of our in-kind contributions to the task agreement.
