Description

This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice for Project 526-09-133, Renovate and Replace Building 100 Elevators at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY 10468. The following is the Scope of Work for the project: ITEM 1 - Base Bid 1.The work consists of Elevator renovation and replacement to elevators 1 - 16 and the replacement of the Operating Room (OR) sterile supply dumbwaiter in building #100 at the James J. Peters Medical Center, at 130 West Kingsbridge Road. Bronx, New York 10468. 2.The work includes but is not limited to selective demolition, elevator renovations, interior finishes, and electrical work. 3.The elevator work includes replacing of elevators S-1 thru S-6, P-7 thru P12, P-13 thru P-16 and the replacement of the OR sterile supply dumbwaiter. The new elevator work includes the removal of the existing pistons and cylinders and replacing with new pistons and PVC sealed cylinder protection with double bottom cylinder, cylinder protection plates, pressurization ports, evacuation ports, plunger stops, safety bulkhead evacuation tube and PVC end cap, that complies with ASME/ANSI A17.1 2000 code. The elevators to have new soft starters, motors, power unit, mufflers, valves, automatic self leveling, controllers, integral car operating panels, audible signal, car position indicators, "in Car" Directional lanterns, emergency car lighting, hall buttons, hall lanterns, hall position indicators, door operators, interlocks, Lambda 3d protection devices, car door hangers hoist way, door hangers, and new elevator cabs. The following elevator components will be retained; Existing capacity and travel distance, elevator speed, existing openings and stops will remain. Motor generator sets and dispatching systems will be replaced. Replacement of doors, sills and entranceways is also included. Completion time is 780 calendar days. 4.Deduct Alternate #1: Base bid less the work associated with Service Elevators 1,2,3,4,5 &6. Completion time is 390 calendar days. 5.Deduct Alternate #2: Deduct Alternate #2: Base bid, less the work associated with Service Elevators, (Deduct alternate #1) and the work associated with Canteen elevator #15 and Morgue elevator #16. Completion time is 390 calendar days. NAICS CODE: 236220 SIZE STANDARD: $33.5 Million RANGE: $5,000,000.00-$10,000,000.00 Please note that Bid Bonds and Performance and Payment Bonds will be required and the bidders must have the bonding capacity for this project. There may be a pre-construction conference held for this project, if so all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of any pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation package. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006, Pursuant to 38 USC8127(d), this construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBs). SDVOSBs are eligible to submit bids under this solicitation. All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, http://www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award.
