- Notice of Intent to Sole Source with Rocket Software, Inc. Informal Sole Source Justification Notice of Intent to Sole Source with Rocket Software, Inc. The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Rocket Software, Inc. for continued maintenance on Disaster Recovery Software. This action is under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)as the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract deem only one source reasonably available. SSA intends to establish a purchase order for continued maintenance on software, which it has already installed, and which is operating in a production environment on Government mainframe computers. Rocket is the only source known to the Government capable of providing upgrades and maintenance support for the Disaster Recovery software product. The period of performance is 06/22/2011 to 06/21/2011. SSA will consider information received solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this Notice of Intent shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. The Government will not honor written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement. A determination by the Government, not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The government will not pay for any information submitted and interested vendors must respond in writing to this notice via email to Sean.Frey@ssa.gov no later than June 6, 2011 at 12:00 pm EST. NO PHONE CALLS OR FAXES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
