- The intent of this contract is to provide interior renovation to existing office space at O'Hare International Airport for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The scope of work includes but is not limited to: demolition throughout the space, including removal of the existing suspended ceiling, and partition walls. New work includes installation of gypsum drywall partitions, new doors, frames and hardware, suspended ceiling, tile, carpeting and repainting. Electrical work includes new power outlets, new lighting fixtures and controls, conduit infrastructure for telephone, and data and security systems. Mechanical work includes modification to the existing ventilation system and a new supplemental cooling system. The contractor is to provide all the management, supervision, manpower, equipment, and supplies necessary for this project. The project period of performance is 90 calendar days. The estimated price range for this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The procurement will be set-aside for Total Small Businesses only. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. Proposals will be evaluated on past performance and price. The solicitation will be available on or about June 20, 2011(actual date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the solicitation). A pre-proposal conference will be conducted before the proposal due date (actual information will be contained in the solicitation). The solicitation will be available for download through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website ( www.fbo.gov ). All interested contractors must register with FBO in order to view sensitive but unclassified information, and this registration requires that the following information be completed: (1) An active Central Contractor Registration (CCR) account, and (2) Dun and Bradstreet DUNS Number. Offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and for monitoring FBO for amendments and/or additional information. Proposals will be due to the General Services Administration, Customer Projects Service Center, 77 West Jackson Blvd., Room 3300, Chicago, IL 60604. Electronic and fax proposals will not be accepted.
