Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for proposals, bids or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses received will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. USDA Forest Service is planning to solicit road reconditioning work for Forest Service roads on both the Cherokee National Forest in east Tennessee and the Chattahoochee/Oconee National Forest in north Georgia. Work involves reconditioning sections of various roads using loader-mounted rock crusher (Iron Wolf 840 Heavy Series or equal). Work would probably occur late 2011 or early 2012. Work required may include, but is not limited to: • Crushing rocks in the roadbed 6 to 12" deep • Crushing rocks in ditches 12" deep • Mixing crushed material with Government furnished crushed aggregate and water • Compacting mixed material with a vibratory roller Budget estimate for this work is between $200,000 and $500,000. Interested vendors should submit a brief overview of their firm's capabilities and past experience with projects similar in scope and magnitude to this project. Include information that can help the Forest Service develop the solicitation, such as the typical rate of progress, pricing guidelines, and typical method of measurement of payment (by mile? by square yard?). Capability statements should not exceed 10 pages and should contain specific information about the rock crusher that your firm will use. Each submittal should also include the following business information: • Organization name, address, and taxpayer ID number • Organization DUNS number • Point of contact information (name, phone number, email address) • Business size (in NAICS code 237310) • Socio-economic status (HUBZone, 8(a), Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, etc) Confidentiality: No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response. The Government reserves the right to use any non-proprietary technical information in any resultant solicitation(s). Capability statements may be emailed to Marcia O'Connor at moconnor@fs.fed.us by close of business on June 16, 2011. After a review of the responses received, the Forest Service may post a presolicitation synopsis and solicitation in FedBizOpps. Responses received for this Sources Sought notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation.
