- Draft Agreement 11XS209 RFP S11-209 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIAID conducts and supports research that strives to understand, treat, and ultimately prevent the myriad infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases that threaten hundreds of millions of people worldwide. The Institute's mission is driven by a strong commitment to basic research and by the understanding that the fields of immunology, microbiology, and infectious disease are related and complementary. The Division of Clinical Research (DCR) facilitates high quality state-of-the-art clinical research with the NIAID. The DCR is currently engaged in a number of strategic planning and organization development projects that are led by members of the DCR and SAIC-F staff and senior consultants to the Office of Planning and Operational Support. SAIC-F is seeking support for NIAID/DCR projects such as: • DCR branch strategic and operational planning and implementation. • DCR is involved in a number of international and domestic collaborations. Strategic planning is conducted with each of these groups and there is ongoing work on implementation and monitoring of the strategic plans. • Within the DCR, there are several projects underway to improve the internal operations of specific organizations. These include efforts to improve communication between staff and management, to improve interface between government staff and contractors, to build management team effectiveness, and to develop and improve internal processes. The following list includes, but is not limited to, the possible activities that maybe requested to be performed: • Design and analysis of surveys and interviews • Research on organization development and strategic planning topics and preparation of summaries and handouts • Preparation of agendas and preparation of materials for meetings, retreats, or planning sessions • Back up support for meetings, retreats, or planning sessions • Logistical and technical support in strategic planning, implementation planning, and evaluation • Preparation of written strategic plans o Prepare draft strategic plans using data generated during facilitated strategic planning sessions o Facilitate a review and revision process with appropriate staff to finalize written strategic plans. • Attendance at and participation in meetings as needed or required for the project
