- The Black Hills Nat. Forest located in Spearfish, SD intends to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) to award a single, firm fixed price contract for the Work Center Crushing & 134 Road Surfacing. Project will include pit development and associated site work, haul road improvements, rock crushing, aggregate stockpiling, road base preparation, aggregate hauling and spreading and aggregate grading and compaction. Quantity of crushing will be approx. 16,500 cubic yards. Approx. 15,000 cubic yards of aggregate material will be placed and compacted on FS 134 (Tinton Road). Prior to aggregate placement grading and shaping of the road surface and ditches will be required. Pit development and crushing is at the Forest Service Work Center located on Tinton RD, approx. 2 miles south of Spearfish SD. Aggregate road surfacing will start at Forest the Boundary and proceed southwards for 9.2 miles. Period of performance will start on or about September 1, 2011, and be completed by June 01, 2012. Duration includes time to perform the base and option, should both be awarded. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials equipment, supplies, incidentals, and perform all required work in accordance to the terms, conditions, specifications, and provisions of the proposed contract. Construction magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation AG-82X9-S-11-0095, and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps and available for downloading on or about June 15, 2011 at the website address http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. This solicitation is a Small Business set-aside under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237310 and the associated small business size standard is $33,500,000.00. A Pre-Proposal visit date will be included in the solicitation. A bid bond of 20% or $3,000,000, whichever is less, will be required. 100% Performance and payment bonds will be required. Contractors may register at CCR internet site http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the CCR Information Center at 1-888-227-2423. The plans and specifications will be available only from the FedBizOpps website on-line at http://fbo.gov. No telephone requests will be accepted and the Government will not issue paper copies. For security reasons, all potential offerors, plan rooms and printing companies are required to register in Central Contractors Registration (CCR) and FedBizOpps in order to view or download plans and drawings from the website.
