- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. The synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center/PKOA is seeking expressions of interest having the capability to coat a set of copper alloy panels with either black nickel or black chrome. The effort required under this Statement of Work (SOW) is to provide materials and labor necessary to coat panels made of either copper or copper alloy with either black nickel or black chrome. The final product shall have an absorption 95% or greater at wavelengths from 1047nm through 1064nm. The final products shall be touchable under normal handling conditions, cleanable using normal laboratory procedures and be free of all oils. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 332813, Electroplating, Plating, Polishing, Anodizing and Coloring, and the size standard for small business is 500 employees. Firms responding to this announcement must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and should include company name, cage code, point of contact, address and indicate whether they are a small business, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small business. The Government reserves the right to consider the acquisition for the 8(a) program based upon responses received to this sources sought announcement.
