Description

The VISN 10 Contracting Activity intends to award a sole source contract to Soundbeam U.S.A. a Psychiatry Sensory Studio. The procurement will be for the VAMC Cleveland, Ohio. This studio will provide a dedicated interactive area for individuals to go to experience self-motivated and self-paced sensory activities. Individuals will be able to access and manipulate a variety of audio, visual and tactile experiences. Recreation/Creative Art Therapists and Nursing can facilitate compensatory strategies through a wide variety and range of therapeutic activities and interactive sensory experiences involving relaxation, sound & light therapy, music therapy, physical and auditory stimulation and visual stimulation. This environment is also designed to engage individuals to revisit a familiar and comfortable environment or create a complete a new one as desired. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with sole source procurement for the required equipment. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 - Other Than Full and Open Competition justification and approval. To the best of our knowledge, soundbeam U.S.A. is the only source that provides the above indicated system. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Telephone and facsimile requests/inquiries will not be accepted. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements. Information can be sent to Contracting Officer: franklin.difranco@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Cleveland VA Medical Center will precede with the sole source award..Contractor shall provide a detailed itemized quote to include all equipment, materials, set-up, turnkey installation, labor, training, pricing and shipping (if applicable). All items will be FBO-destination (if applicable). The offer shall comply with specifications listed below. This procurement is subject to availability of funds. The Government reserves the right to cancel this RFQ before or after the closing date. The Government will review all quotes submitted to ensure all items meet specifications. The Government reserves the right to accept or decline any/all quotes that do meet the Governments specifications. The Government reserves the right to cancel this RFQ after award.
