- RFP VA-528-11-RP-0021 is soliciting for a Contractor to provide Health Physicist services for the VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York at Syracuse, a division of the United States Government's Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), for the period of one (1) base year and four (4) one-year renewal option periods. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment and qualified professional to provide Health Physicist Services. Services to include but not limited to: Assisting VA Radiation Safety Officer in the conduct of the institution's Radiation Safety, Quality management and ALARA programs. Providing coverage for the Medical Center Radiation Safety Officer during vacations, sick leave and authorized absences. Assuring that all records required by the State, Federal and Medical Center accreditation agencies are maintained. Being available for unlimited telephone calls twenty-four hours a day. Providing regulatory support, providing necessary annual training as required by regulation, attending quarterly radiation safety committee meetings and providing advisory support for technologists and radiologists. Performing quarterly dose calibrator accuracy tests. Performing annual compliance evaluations and testing and generating reports on equipment located at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, NY and at VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic's located in Rome, NY and Binghamton, NY. Performing acceptance testing of new Radiographic & Fluoroscopic equipment, including an area radiation survey. Provide lead shielding design input for new rooms. Performing appropriate testing for American College of Radiology (ACR) Accreditation of the MRI and CT Sections. The NAICs code for this is 541690, Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services (size standard of $7.0 million). CCR Registration at http://www.ccr.gov is required in order to be eligible for award of Government contracts. Solicitation packages will be available on or about May 25, 2011.
