- 1) Type of Notification: Sources Sought This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name (b) address, (c) point of contact, (d)"number of employees" as defined by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 19.101 and (e) the amount of "annual receipts" as defined by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 19. In addition, the respondent must provide a capability statement that addresses the organization's qualifications and ability to perform as a prime contractor the work described below. 2) Description: Personal Services (Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse). The period of performance will be from September to February (six months). The contract employee will be required to work on a rotating schedule; Monday through Saturday and shifts may vary between four to eight hours depending on the demand of the flu vaccinations. The following is a brief summary of the primary duties that each position must perform. The contract employee shall perform the following procedures, as required, and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF to include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following. This list is not all inclusive: Registered Nurse Demonstrate competence in all steps in preparing and administering intramuscular shots on clients from six months of age to geriatric patients. Intranasal immunizations will also be performed on patients who are eligible to get FluMist, the nurse must be competent in screening patients to determine what immunization the individual will receive as well as preparing and administrating intramuscular and intranasal flu vaccine. Training will be provided reviewing immunization technique and screening criteria. The LPN must pass the post test given after training with a score of 80% or higher to work in this setting. Licensed Practical Nurse Demonstrate competence in all steps in preparing and administering intramuscular shots on clients from six months of age to geriatric patients. Intranasal immunizations will also be performed on patients who are eligible to get FluMist, the LPN must be competent in reviewing the screening performed by the RN on the patient to determine what immunization the individual will receive then preparing and administrating intramuscular and intranasal flu vaccine as indicated. The LPN must seek clarification from the RN if they believe screening was not completed correctly or additional information was provided to the LPN that could change the recommended flu vaccine indicated by the RN who conducted the screening. Training will be provided reviewing immunization technique and screening criteria. The LPN must pass the post test given after training with a score of 80% or higher to work in this setting. 3) Qualifications: Registered Nurse a.Shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as an RN in at least one state or territory (Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands) in the United States. All licenses must remain current, valid and unrestricted during contract employment. b.Shall have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Certificated through the American Heart Association/American Red Cross. Certifications must be maintained and renewed at no additional cost to the Government. Licensed Practical Nurse a. Certifications must be maintained and renewed at no additional cost to the Government. 4) Place of Performance: These services would be performed at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and/or National Capital Region to include the following locations: National Naval Medical Center (NNMC), Bethesda, MD, Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland; and Kimbrough Army Community Hospital, Ft Meade, MD.
