- SOURCES SOUGHT THIS IS A FOLLOW-ON PROCUREMENT: SLAC seeks vendors that can provide and continue the development of mixed refrigerant cooler. The successful vendor will use existing hardware developed, fabricated and procured from previous SLAC contract with additional modifications listed below: • Optimized refrigerant to attain continuous operation exceeding 100 watt at 143K using non-flammable mixture(s). • Redesign, build, and test improved cooler heat exchanger. Heat exchanger improvements required to attain optimum refrigeration capacity for / with nonflammable refrigerant mixture. • Incorporate adjustable JT valve to determine optimum parameters for final fixed capillaries to attain continuous operation exceeding 100 watt at 143K. Incorporate increased displacement (24 CC) compressor to evaluate performance margin increase. • Incorporate water cooled "waistband" for refrigeration compressor to evaluate performance margin increase.
