- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid South Area, anticipates award of a firm fixed price contract for a project entitled 'Repair/Paint Elevated Water Storage Tank' Project' at the USDAS, ARS, 141 experiment Station Road, Stoneville, MS. 38776. The work includes but is not limited to: The Contractor shall be responsible for supplying all labor, equipment, supervision, and materials required to repair/paint water tank. Principal features of work include but are not limited to: (a) Pressure wash, mechanically clean deteriorated paint areas and paint the exterior of the tank, and clean interior of tank. (b) Perform miscellaneous repairs to the tank as indicated on the drawings. (c) Remove existing ladder complete. Install new OSHA Approved ladder w/ Anti Fall Climbing Device and Ladder Guard. (d) Remove top handrail at catwalk. Extend support post up 6' to provide a handrail ht. of 42'. (e) Remove existing roof manway adjust opening to install a new 30' manway with a 4' curb and 2' overlap cover. Provide opening for the installation of a new 30' manway 4' curb and 2' overlap cover. 180deg. from existing roof manway. Provide interior ladder for new manway. Provide cable type safety climbing device on both new and existing interior ladders and new roll around type roof ladder. (f) Provide new interior ladder with fall prevention system. The period of performance is 45 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The magnitude of construction is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. This is a 100% set-aside for competition among Small Business Contractors. The NAICS Code is 237110, with a size standard of $33.5 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-51. RFQ No. AG-4431-S-11-0006 solicitation package, specifications, and drawings documents will be available for viewing and downloading at the Fed Biz Opps web site: www.fedbizopps.gov on or about June 13, 2011. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Thursday, June, 23, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. CST. Any changes or additional information will be provided in the solicitation package. Bids will be due by 2:00 p.m. CST on July 14, 2011. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror who submits the lowest bid. All responsible Small Businesses may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation, and register or update their registration at the Online Representation and Certification Application website at http://orca.bpn.gov.
