If you are a dealer or distributor of systems and modular furnishings, please forward this RFI to the systems and modular furniture manufacturers(s) your company represents. The Air Force is requesting one (1) RFI submission package per systems and modular furnishings manufacturer. RFI responses from dealerships will not be reviewed. Specific Information Requested This is a subsequent RFI to a previous requirements RFI that the Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) Furnishings Commodity Council released. While the requirements section of this RFI may look similar to the previous RFI, there have been significant changes to the requirement language based in part from manufacturer feedback. The intention of this RFI is to validate manufacturer's capability to meet the revised requirements. The requirements have been grouped into four distinct categories; Stackable Panel Systems, Monolithic Panel Systems, Demountable/Moveable Walls and Services. RFI Objective and Attachment Overview Specifically, utilizing the attached spreadsheets, we are looking to validate the manufacturer's capability to meet our listed requirements by product category and by each of your Systems and Modular product lines as well as your ability to meet or have your authorized dealers meet the associated services requirements. In addition, we are requesting manufacturer demographic information in to better understand the systems and modular furniture environment. This RFI includes 7 Attachments: 1) Product Line System & Modular Furnishings Requirements Capability (attachment 1) 2) Product Line System & Modular Furnishings Requirements Certification (attachment 1a) 3) Stackable Panel-Systems & Modular Furnishings Requirements Matrix (attachment 2) 4) Monolithic Panel-Systems & Modular Furnishings Requirements Matrix (attachment 3) 5) Moveable/Demountable Wall Systems Requirements Matrix (attachment 4) 6) Services Requirement Matrix (attachment 5) 7) Manufacturer Demographics (attachment 6) Future Acquisition This RFI may be followed by a Request for Proposal (RFP). All interested sources are strongly encouraged to submit information supporting this request. Submissions Information may be submitted until Tuesday, 14 June 2011 @2300 EST. All responses must be in the attached formats or per the directions on the attachment. Other formats will not be considered. Specifically we are looking for Attachment 1 (Product line capability), Attachment 5 (Services Requirements) and Attachment 6 (Manufacturer Demographics), fully completed and returned as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, compatible with Microsoft Office 2007. Attachment 1a (Product line Certification) should be returned per the instructions on the sheet itself (formats:.pdf,.jpeg or.tiff). Attachments 2-4 are for manufacturers to reference when determining whether or not a specific product line meets all of the identified requirements and is not expected to be returned. Responses or questions should be submitted by email to the following mailbox: Furnishings.cc@wpafb.af.mil The Air Force will not accept or acknowledge: e-mails over 2MB, brochures, samples, catalogs and any other marketing solicitation information. General Office Info The Enterprise Sourcing Group located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH is responsible for enterprise level strategic sourcing. The ESG is the Air Force's centralized organization for executing enterprise-wide strategic sourcing for installation goods and services. They utilize strategic sourcing best practices to continually improve and re-evaluate organizational purchasing activities, to improve quality and reduce costs for installation acquisition. The ESG uses cross-functional teams called "Commodity Councils" to strategically source goods and/or services at the enterprise level. Currently, the ESG services 71 CONUS procurement offices buying systems and modular furniture with a historical spend of approximately $50M annually. General RFI Info/Disclaimer The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information about market information or capabilities for planning purposes as defined in FAR 15.201(e). Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Participants are advised that only Air Force Contracting Officers are legally authorized to commit the Government to the obligation of funds. Participants are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. For copyright purposes, participants are also advised that submitting a proposal implies express permission for the Government to use the data, pictures, and other information contained in the submittals. We highly encourage all interested manufacturers to provide a complete and thorough response to this RFI, however not responding will not preclude participation should a solicitation be released.
