- USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Trautwein Soil Testing Equipment Co., 6909 Ashcroft #104, Houston, TX 77081 for DigiShear Automated Direct Simple Shear System.. A DigiShear Automated Direct Simple Shear System w/2.62 in diam., Ring stack, 2 load cells, 1 deformation sensor and software for direct simple shear testing is required. The government currently owns equipment and software from this manufacturer. Additionally equipment from the same company is required for the compatibility with existing equipment and interchangeability of parts. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 11:00 AM CST, Wednesday June 1, 2011.
