Description

Upgrade Elevators, Phase II, Project No. 688-10-027, The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a contractor to perform Design-Build construction services to completely modernize and upgrade the following: (1) Existing Code Blue Elevator-Traction #7 - Main Building, (2) Existing Emergency Room Elevator-Traction #12 - Main Building, and (3) Existing Research Building Elevator Hydraulic #13 - Research Building 2, located at the DCVAMC, 50 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC 20422. All project work will include the labor and materials as necessary, per VA Master Construction specifications and code, with final inspection and testing by VA Transportation Consultants, prior to acceptance of completed work. The two tasks consist of: Task- 1 Furnishing all labor, parts, materials, supervision, engineering and components for the elevators #7 and #12 located in the Main Building of the DCVAMC located at 50 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC 20422. Contractor will remove as part of demolition existing equipment and parts. Furnish and install new, machine room equipment, hoist way door equipment, care doors, door operators, car top controls, car stations, cab walls, ceiling, floor, hall fixtures and roller guides. Task-2 Furnishing all labor, parts, materials, supervision, engineering and components for the elevators #13 located in the Research Building #2 of the DCVAMC located at 50 Irving St. NW, Washington, DC 20422. Contractor will remove as part of demolition, all existing equipment and parts necessary. Furnish and install new elevator parts and equipment as necessary for a complete upgrade and modernization. The estimated cost range for construction is $1,000,000.00 to $2,000,000.00. The offeror shall obtain any and all necessary licenses or permits required to perform this work in Washington, DC. The firm must be a Special Trade Construction Contractor firm approved under NAICS code 238290, size standard $14.0 million. Competition for this procurement is 100% Veteran Owned Small Business. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Prospective Contractors must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Technical and Cost Proposals will be accepted from only responsible and responsive contractors. Electronic solicitation documents will be made available in electronic format only through the VA website at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation. The Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about Tuesday June 7, 2011. The pre-proposal/site visit meeting for this project will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00am. All interested parties shall promptly report to the Facilities Management Conference Room BH-132 for the meeting. All interested contractors must ensure that their firms have the ability to provide 100% Performance and Payment Bonds. Proposals are due to the Contract Specialist at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422, Room BH-135 by July 12, 2011 at 10:00 am local time (EDT). The last day for questions is Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Telephone requests will not be accepted. This procurement is subject to availability of funds.
