Description
Combined Synopsis/Solicitation No. Q1450110014Amendment 0002May 16, 2011 Project Title: Sandblast and Recoat Interior of Tender Water Tank, Golden Spike National Historic Site Description of Changes: This Amendment serves to provide comments to questions received in response to this solicitation. Question 1: As the specification requires that we use the air horns provided by others, can you please provide manufacturer, model number and any other pertinent data on the air horns? If there is an OEM name plate on the horns it should provide all of the relevant data.Response 1: Coppus - Jectair - Model# 3-HP Question 2: If from a safety perspective we determine that some additional measures will be required for safe entry to the vessel during the project then I assume there would be no issue provided we include the description in our proposal. For instance, we have executed projects in the past that we have required any person making entry to the work area to wear forced air hoods, cartridge (particulate or vapor) respirators, etc. If this is the case for this project (which I expect it will be due to the lacquer thinner), then any third party inspectors or government employees would also be expected to comply with our safety plan. Do you anticipate that this would be an issue?Response 2: If the vendor determines additional measures are needed for safe entry of the tank, then please include that in the proposal. The government inspector(s) will comply with the contractors safety plan. Offers must acknowledge receipt of this amendment and all other amendments prior to the hour and date specified in the solicitation or as amended by one of the following methods: 1) Signing and dating this amendment and returning with offer; 2) By acknowledging receipt of this amendment on each copy of the offer submitted; or 3) By separate letter or telegram which includes a reference to the solicitation and amendment numbers. FAILURE OF YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO BE RECEIVED AT THE PLACE DESIGNATED FOR THE RECEIPT OFFERS PRIOR TO THE HOUR AND DATE SPECIFIED MAY RESULT IN REJECTION OF YOUR OFFER. If by virtue of the amendment you desire to change an offer already submitted, such change may be made by telegram or letter, provided each telegram or letter makes reference to the solicitation and this amendment, and is received prior to the opening hour and date specified. Third Party: If you have given a copy of this Solicitation to someone else, please forward this amendment accordingly.
