- A synopsis is not required in accordance with FAR 5.202(a) (13). The intent is to promote as much competition as possible thus the reasoning for posting this prior to the solicitation release. This is the reason that this pre solicitation notice may not be posted for 15 days. *DATA Package is Available - Look under Packages TAB in FedBizOpps* This is a notice of the intent that WR-ALC anticipates issuing a contract for the purchase of Cable Assembly Set, NSN: 5995-01-541-0930BA, applicable C-17 Globemaster III Cargo Aircraft. Anticipated award is as follows: Basic Quantity: 32 Option year I: 1 - 5 each Option year II: 1 - 5 each Option year III: 1 - 5 each The option quantity will not exceed 5 each in each option year, but can be ordered from time to time. The First Article is required unless no more than 48 months has elapsed since completion of the contract and the offeror meets the following criteria: a)has previously furnished production quantities of the same or similar article to the prime contractor for delivery to the United States Air Force; and/or b) currently is in production of the same or similar article for a United States Air Force contract and who has received First Article approval under the existing contract; and/or c)has previously furnished production quantities of the same or similar articles to the United States Air Force, provided articles thus furnished, have exhibited satisfactory performance in service in the opinion of the United States Air Force. The condition for First Article wavier will be stated in the solicitation. The First Article will be part of the production quantity. (NOTE: The Government will make the final decision if the First Article Requirement can be waived) A Test Plan and Test Report will be required if First Article is not waived. Solicitation to be released on or about 20 May 2011 with a response date of on or about 6 June 2011. The anticipated award date is on or about 13 June 2011.
