- The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, and supplies necessary for the preventive maintenance and service for the following equipment: 0001 - Contractor to provide service to inspect and test approximately 750 fire/smoke dampers located in all buildings of the VA Medical Center at Canandaigua, New York (VISN 2). "Must meet NFPA 99A and 101 Code requirements "All replacement parts must be UL listed "All tests shall be completed in a safe manner by personnel wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). "Vendor is responsible for providing and installing all required ICRA barriers and complying with all required ICRA actions. "Contractor must locate and operate (i.e. actuate) all fire dampers and smoke dampers in the facility. "Contractor must remove and reset all fusible links and verify the damper fully closes. "Contractor must ensure no interference due to rusted, bent, misaligned, or damaged frame or blades, or defective hinges or other moving parts. "Contractor must clean and service all dampers "Lubricate all moving parts of the fire damper. "Replace all fusible links that are compromised (per NFPA Code). "Ensure all dampers have identification stickers with identifying numbers. "Contractor must provide a written report with 100% documentation to include: damper location, unique damper identifying number, condition (pass/fail), detailed reason for failure, corrective actions taken, date of testing, and name of inspector. Report will be provided in electronic and hard copy. "Any inconsistencies in location will be noted on building drawings provided by VA. "Contractor is responsible for arranging all access, providing all required construction barriers, and coordinating shutdowns so as to not interfere with continuity of operations. Contractor shall follow all OSHA and VA safety requirements when accessing dampers "Contractor shall follow all VA confined spaces policies and procedures. Contractor shall obtain all necessary permits and receive approval from the VA Fire Department before performing any testing in confined spaces. "Contractor shall be knowledgeable concerning code requirements and be able to show experience in the installation/maintenance of fire/smoke containment systems. Member of one or more of the following: ASHE, ASHRAE, IAP, NADCA, or NFPA 0002 - Repair of Fire/Smoke Damper price listed per unit. Repairs are expected to be required on 5% (38) of the units. 0003 - Replacement of Fire/Smoke Damper listed per unit. 0004 - Repair of Access Door per unit 0005 - Replacement of Access Door per unit SERVICE All work performed on this contract shall be done during the hours of 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Contractor shall schedule preventive maintenance and inspections hours with the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). Work shall be completed within 30 days after date of award.
