- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. ATTENTION****FORMAL COMMUNICATION RELATED TO THIS ACQUISITION SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO Larry Allen, Contracting Officer, 256-313-4111, you may fax your request Attention: CCAM-AP-A Fax: 256-313-4144 or Attention: CCAM-AP-A, Adam Kimbro, Contract Specialist, Fax: 256-313-4144, NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Government proposes to acquire, on a sole source basis from Millie Models-Huntsville, Al, Cage Code-66R85, Auto-Stereoscopic modeling of the M-TADS in order to provide 3-D virtual environment for training purposes. The Contractor will demonstrate the removal, inspection and reassembly of the M-TADS system that allows a user to touch, feel, and manipulate virtual M-TADS objects through a haptic device without using any special eyewear. The related efforts required to satisfy this modeling requirement, including non-recurring engineering, integration and qualification efforts under the authority and justification for Other than Full and Open Competition under FAR Subpart 6.302-1 based on the determination that the Government needs can only be satisfied by one source. Only Millie Models-Huntsville, Al possesses the technical expertise, data and experience necessary to execute this requirement.
