- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS ONLY A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUCEMENT. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentations will be made. The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone Small Business concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), 8(a) certified Small Business concerns, Woman-Owned Small Business concerns or Small Business concerns. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 with a small business size standard $33.5 Million. The estimated value of the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Bid, payment and performance bonds will be required. The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking Interested Vendors with successful past performance, current relevant experience, personnel, equipment, capability and bonding capacity to perform the following repairs to the Multi-Mission Building, Garage and Site: (1) Multi-Mission Building - a. Replace existing windows with new aluminum clad wood windows (rated for wind and impact requirements specified) and provide new flashings, exterior/interior trim; b. Remove existing and provide new window treatments; c. Renovate bathrooms to include selective demolition, the provision of new plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, finishes, vanities, exhaust fans and bathroom accessories, clean existing ceramic tile floors and base, provide new ceramic tile base, and modify existing and add exhaust fan ductwork; d. Remove existing and provide new ceiling tiles, clean existing ceiling grids to remain; e. Painting new and existing work to remain, and interior wall and ceiling repairs. (2) Garage - a. Remove existing brick jack arches, steel masonry lintels and flashing systems, provide new galvanized steel lintels and flashing systems. Re-install acceptable existing brick or provide new brick at arches; b. Remove existing and replace with new aluminum clad wood windows, rated for wind and impact requirements specified, and provide new flashings, exterior/interior trim. c. Remove existing doors/frames, provide new FRP doors, frames, sills and hardware; d. Repair existing doors/frames/transoms, to include re-glazing, new weatherstripping, prepping and painting; e. Paint existing/new doors, windows and trim; f. Remove existing louver and replace with new aluminum louver; g. Modify existing and provide new duct work to tie new louver into existing system; h. Repair and repoint brick chimney. (3) Site - a. Provide new roadway lighting system; b. Remove existing wood material storage building and provide new modular steel HazMat storage building, to include site prep, foundation systems, site utilities and new site work. Make provision for electrical and fire alarm systems between existing boathouse and new HazMat building. c. Remove existing domestic water supply line and provide a new domestic water supply line and backflow preventer; d. Remove existing underground foundation and roof drainage systems and provide new underground foundation and roof drainage systems. Modify and repair existing drainage structures; e. Remove existing and provide new flag pole; f. Remove, store and re-plant existing trees and shrubs as required to perform work; g. Remove existing and provide new pavements as required to perform work; h. Ledge removal as required for work. The performance period is estimated to be 300 days. In accordance with FAR Part 19, if your firm is one of the above small business concerns and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by email to Jean.M.Bretz@uscg.mil with "Sources Sought for Solicitation HSCGG1-11-CASTLE" in the subject line or by fax to (401) 736-1704. Your response should include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as prime contractor; (b) a statement identifying your certified small business designation; (c) evidence of bonding capacity to the maximum magnitude of the project, to include both single and aggregate totals; and, (d) evidence of specialized experience similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers - specifically addressing experience with historic brickwork (steel lintel and brick arch replacement); site work for utilities; ledge removal; impact-resistant window installation; underground electrical work and concrete work. Your response is required no later than 25 May 2011. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on an applicable set-aside.
