- The Defense Logistics Agency Contracting Services Office-Battle Creek has a sole source requirement for SANS Training. This is neither a request for quotation nor a request for proposal. No solicitation document exists. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) intends to place a sole-source award of information security training and subsequent certification examinations for up to 25 students at the HDI Federal Center in Battle Creek, MI. Training will last for five continuous days and include one instructor, in addition to a certification examination and shall be provided by The Escal Institute of Advanced Technologies, Inc. d/b/a SANS Institute, 81290 Woodmont Ave., Bethesda, MD 20814. The title of the course is SEC 301: Intro to Information Security. In order for potential sources to be technically acceptable to perform these training services, the source must be currently listed as an approved training source in DoD8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program dated December 19, 2005, (See Chapter 2 - Appendix 2, Appendix 3 and Appendix 3-Table 2 for more information about technically acceptable training providers). Any potential source presently capable of meeting the requirement for training providers set forth in DoD 8570.01-M is encouraged to reply to this notice. Your expression of interest along with your evidence of technical acceptability must be received no later than 4 pm ET, Monday, May 23, 2011. Send your expression of interest package via email to amanda.geissler@dla.mil, Attn: Amanda Geissler, with "SP4707-11-Q-0053" in the subject line. Information submitted will not be returned. If no sources express an interest by Monday, May 23, 2011, or if a prospective source which expresses an interest is subsequently determined to be technically ineligible, then DLA will proceed with negotiations with the SANS Institute. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, award will be made to the SANS Institute. Only SANS Institute can provide the SEC 301 training class and examination.
