- The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY is conducting a market survey to determine if there are any academic book approval firms that are capable of meeting the following requirements. The firm shall provide an automated book acquisition process, annually supplying approximately 5,000 books of academic or scholarly content, with more than 85% supporting humanities and the remainder supporting scientific subjects. The firm shall supply Electronic Order Confirmation Records (EOCR) for each title via ftp compatible with Innovative Interfaces, Inc.'s (III) Millennium Acquisition Module and also supply WorldCat Cataloging Partners OCLC-MARC records according to the Government's existing profile. III is the provider of the turnkey integrated library system that supports the USMA Library. Since approximately 2005, the book acquisition process has been automated with Innovative Interfaces, Inc., Yankee Book Peddler, OCLC, and the USMA Library. Book approval companies that currently provide III electronic ordering, electronic invoiceing, and electronic receipt of records with catalog record loading features are requested to provide capabilities information. This market research is being performed to determine the current competitive environment. Responses to this sources sought notice will be considered by the government in determining the acquisition strategy for this requirement. The NAICS for this requirement is 424920 and the small business size standard is 100 employees.
