- This amendment is to answer questions that have come up since the solicitation was originally posted: Q1. What is the primary age range of children that will be attending this event? A1. Ages 9-16 Q2. Special needs cover a wide range of both cognitive and physical disabilities. Depending on the special need impacts the staffing levels. Do you have more clarification? A2. The camp must be able to handle some special needs and not automatically say no to youth with special needs who want to attend. At this time we have no way of knowing who will register and if that will mean the need for a one-on-one or anything. The camp shall allow children who need redirection and extra support in a camp environment. There is not a need for facilities for youth with physical handicaps. Not all military children are "special needs" but they do have special circumstances that need to be understood and shall be addressed on a case by case basis. Q3. Do you have any specific dates in mind or is it any week in the July - Aug 2011 time period? A3. July is strongly preferred however dates in August will be considered. Also, being that this is a week of camp exclusively for military youth, the camp shall not integrate the military youth with children from the general public. The camp does not have to be entirely closed to the general public, however the military youth shall be isolated to meet the program's objectives.
