Description: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. This purpose of this announcement is to conduct market research for developing a procurement strategy for a possible upcoming opportunity entitled, "Rehabilitate and Paint Tainter Gates on a set of Lock Gates at the Greer Ferry Lake, Greers Ferry, Cleburne County, Arkansas." Information obtained from industry, will be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of industry and not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. If the Government does issue a solicitation, it will be assigned a Procurement Identification Number such as W9127S-11-R-XXXX. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The purpose of this notice is to measure the interest of Small Businesses (SB), 8(a), Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), Woman Owned Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), or HUBZone prime contractor business sources and their size classifications relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 237990 "Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction" (Size Standard of $33.5 Million) for the subject opportunity. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, conduct market research for developing a procurement strategy for a possible upcoming opportunity entitled, "Rehabilitate and Paint Tainter Gates on a set of Lock Gates at the Greer Ferry Lake, Greers Ferry, Cleburne County, Arkansas. The work includes the painting of all six (6) Tainter gates. This work shall include the following: blast cleaning and preparation for painting for the gates, lead paint abatement procedures (as necessary), replacement of the side seal assemblies, and the addition of cathodic protection system for the wearing plates, side seal assemblies, and adjacent portions of skin plates. In addition, enlarge existing drain holes and add drain holes on horizontal gate girders (as necessary), repair the bottom sill plates on gates #1 and #2, and provide "bird shielding" on the upper gate girders for all gates. Optional items shall include the following: Repair/retrofit of trunion pin retainer welds, re-weld splice plates on the catwalk support beams, blast clean and paint the underside of the catwalk and machinery support framing, repair the cracked concrete in isolated areas of the piers adjacent to bearing pads that support the machinery support beams. The contractor shall retain, at minimum, the AISC Category STD certification, and the AISC SPE endorsement (or SSPC-QP 3 certification). The certifications shall be currently in place upon receipt of proposals and shall not expire during the contract period. Please provide a Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, and knowledge to perform the specified type of work. REQUIREMENTS: Provide the following in response to this sources sought synopsis: 1. Three (3) examples of past experience projects of paint and rehabilitation of tainter gates. Examples should include the following information: a. A description of the work; b. Dollar amount of the work; c. Location of the work d. Contact information for the past experience project. 2. Provide your company's name, address and CAGE code and/or DUNS number 3. Provide your company's stated AISC Category STD certification, and the AISC SPE endorsement (or SSPC-QP 3 certification).
