Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, bids, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The USDA Forest Service is planning to solicit a construction project for the Walker District Administrative complex in Walker, MN on the Chippewa National Forest. This project includes new construction and renovation on six facilities at the existing site. The administrative office is the largest building which is approximately 12,000 square feet with an attached heated warehouse, renovated quarters, tree cooler, unheated garage and sitework. Demolition, limited utility connections and landscaping are also included in the project. The Forest Service is conducting a market survey to determine the existence of potential small business concerns (e.g., HUBZone, 8(a), SDVOSB, Woman Owned, etc.) with the capability to accomplish this construction work under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard for silver rating. The Forest Service designers have established all the sustainable criteria for design and construction credits to be completed through the development of this project work. The contractor is expected to demonstrate successful completion of LEED certified projects of similar size, scope and complexity. The total construction is expected to be completed within 14 months. The estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The work is expected to start on or around September 2011. The solicitation should be available by July 2011. Interested parties shall provide a brief overview of their firm's capabilities and past experience with projects similar in scope and magnitude to this project. Capability statements shall include any photographs of completed LEED projects, past project experience of similar content, credentials of key staff, and construction fields of specialty labor that will be performed by in-house staff. All information shall be submitted in Word or PDF format, not to exceed 10 pages, including all attachments. Each submittal shall also include the following business information: a. DUNS number b. Organization Name c. Organization Address d. Point of Contact (including name, title, addresses, telephone number, fax number and Email address) e. Business size f. Socio-economic status Firms shall identify whether or not they are a small business or other than small business in accordance with the size standard for NAICS code 236220. If another NAICS code may be applicable, please identify the NAICS in your capability statement. All information must be received by the Forest Service no later than: June 1, 2011, 2:00 PM, CST.
